Seagate Development Group will be holding an event to celebrate the groundbreaking for its furnished Bal Harbor model at Hill Tide Estates, a 9.98-acre gated enclave on the southern tip of Boca Grande being developed by Seagate and the only site on Boca Grande that overlooks Boca Grande Pass. The event is open to the public and will be held on Thursday March 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Seagate’s award-winning furnished Captiva model. Beverages and small bites will be served. The Captiva model, the Bal Harbor, model, and BCB Homes’ Beacon model are available for purchase. Eight home sites priced from the $2-millions are also available. Floor plans ranging from 3,004 to over 5,000 square feet under air are included in Seagate’s Hill Tide Estates offering. Seagate will also build custom homes.
Residents at Hill Tide Estates have enjoyed the Seagate buying and construction process and Boca Grande’s relaxed island lifestyle. Power boating enthusiasts Michele and Thomas Harrison lived in Naples since 1993 before moving to Hill Tide Estates. Through their boating adventures, the Harrison’s were intimately familiar with Boca Grande. When Seagate announced plans to develop the Hill Tide Estates community, Michele and Thomas knew it was time to take advantage of the opportunity.
“We spent a good deal of time on our boat going around the island,” said Michele. “We had always talked about maybe someday moving up there. We saw an article that said the Hill Tide site was under contract with Seagate. We thought, wow, this is going to be special. We had just built a 75-foot Hatteras, and we just said to each other, what do think, is now the time? The process became a matter of who we wanted to build with, and Seagate was the one we met with and felt most comfortable with, and we decided to proceed forward with them.”
The Harrison’s chose to design a customized version of Seagate’s Gasparilla floor plan. The two-story 4,717 square feet plan includes four bedrooms, a huge great room, double-island kitchen and casual dining area, an L-shaped bar, a glass enclosed walk-in wine room, a study, and the master suite on the first floor. The outdoor living area includes a fireplace, island bar, outdoor kitchen, and a pool and spa. An elevator leads to an upstairs with three guest bedrooms, two of which open to a covered sunset deck. A lounge also opens to the deck and includes a wet bar.
“We liked the open floor plan,” said Michele. “The vistas from almost all of the rooms are of Charlotte Harbor, and the view from the front room is the Gulf of Mexico. This plan took advantage of all the views. It is very open. You can look over the pool right to the water. It is a spectacular location. The pool package they designed for this house is amazing. Seagate did an outstanding job. The quality of the finishes is great. I worked with Jinx McDonald at Jinx McDonald Interior Design. We worked together as a team. We specified a lot of trim details, and a lot of design elements that Seagate built into the home. They did an outstanding job. The quality of the finishes is great. The building process itself was just fine. Seagate was onsite and their construction superintendent was amazing. We got weekly reports with photos of the progress and bi-weekly conference calls. They really kept us up to date on what was happening.”
While the Harrison’s are passionate about boating, the relaxed Boca Grande island lifestyle also held great appeal. For Michele, the Boca Grande ambiance was reminiscent of her childhood years on Cape Cod and of what Naples was like 26 years ago.
“It reminds me of the little town I came from on Cape Cod,” she said. “When I moved to Naples in 1993, it was a much smaller town. It had a charm to it that this island really has as well. It’s just less congested, there’s no crazy traffic. Your traffic jams are usually with the golf cart, not with the car. When you’re vacationing here, it is very different than when you’re living here. When you live here, you pretty much get to know everybody. You feel like it is a resort, but it’s not a resort. I can go to my private golf course. I play pickle ball. There are all of the amenities that you expect to have. The community center is amazing. It has everything you would get in Naples, just on a much smaller scale. The reality is this is what Naples was thirty years ago. The town is full of mom and pop operations. There is a little grocery store where you can still have a charge account. There is a hardware store where you can find everything imaginable. There is plenty of dining in town. If I want to go to Publix and load up for the week, it is literally a mile off the bridge. We moved here because we wanted a slower pace and less congestion, in addition to all the things we loved about Naples.”
Seagate was presented the prestigious 2019 Aurora Award for the Captiva model in the Best Single-Family Detached Home Over 4,000 Square Feet category. Theory Design was named recipient of an Aurora Award for the Captiva’s interior design in the Best Interior Design of a Home Priced over $2 million category. The model’s landscaping, outdoor living area, pool, and spa were designed by Outside Productions.
Theory Design’s Vice President of Design Ruta Menaghlazi has completed the interior design concept and finish selections for the furnished Bal Harbour model. The three-level Bal Harbour floor plan includes 4,545 square feet under air on the two living levels. The plan’s ground level entry and a front porch are flanked by two oversized garages. The ground level includes massive storage spaces for storing beach, fishing, and boating gear. A ground level foyer provides access to an elevator and a staircase that lead to the living levels. The first living level will showcase a spacious great room, an island kitchen, dining area, study, and a second master suite. The living area, including the study and second master suite, open to a deck with a pool and spa, and to an outdoor living area with conversation and dining areas, an outdoor kitchen, and a pool bath. The second living level features a bonus room with a wet bar, the master suite, and two VIP guest suites. The bonus room, master suite, and one of the VIP guest suites open to a comfortably sized deck that will offer an ideal place to enjoy sunsets over the Gulf. The deck overlooks the pool and outdoor living area.
